There is often a misconception on who the Tree Farm belongs to, how are games played, how do I reserve fields etc.  The Tree Farm Management group was formed as an entity to oversee the Tree Farm.   There are many groups that were an initial and ongoing supporter of the Tree Farm.  Some of those groups are:   Essex United Soccer Club, Nordic Spirit Soccer Club, Rugby, Town of Essex, Village of Essex Junction, Robert E. Miller, Pizagalli Construction and the State of Vermont.  As such, there is no entity that owns the Tree Farm, the groups above rent field space from the Tree Farm and in doing so, are a major part of our funding.

In terms of funding, the Tree Farm raises its operating budget from fees charged to users.  There is a $50/hr fee to play on the fields.  The Tree Farm is a qualified 501.C.3 (Non-Profit) entity.   So we also do get some donations from delighted users, these donations are extremely helpful in our yearly expenses.   To put this in perspective, it costs somewhere around ninety thousand dollars a year to run the Tree Farm.  There are many costs which our users may not consider;  Port o lets, power, water, insurance, grounds maintenance, mowing, goals, nets, corner flags etc etc etc.

To date, we have rented thousands of hours a year to some of the following groups:  Essex United Soccer Club, Rugby, Nordic Spirit Soccer Club, Adult leagues, Synergy, IBM, Ultimate Frisbee, UVM Club Soccer, Essex High School, Vermont Principals Association for the Division 1 finals which has been held at the Tree Farm for the past two years.
